A Brief History of Ear Candling

Ear Candling is not a new form of Therapy. Dating back to 2500 BC, evidence exists to show the use of ear candling. Ancient cultures, including the Egyptians, made reference to its practice. Parchment scrolls discovered in the Orient also have described the procedure of ear candling. This ancient therapeutic art may have been developed with the domestication of the honeybee. Beeswax was used to make hollow cylinders used in the procedure and the principle cloth used by the ancient Egyptians was linen made from flax (the fibers of an annual blue-flowered plant). Today, as before…high-quality, ear candles are handmade from beeswax and unbleached cotton cloths. These specially fabricated candles are 9 to 12 inches long and will burn for approximately ten minutes.
